Anyway, Sri Lanka tomorrow.

They are an awesome team. They've got good batsmen and a solid bowling line up with Vaas aka Captain Death , Malinga the Slinger and of course Murali. Vaas has a knack of knocking over Smith LBW early on.

My changes for the team. Captain Slowmo can stay but bring him in early only if there is a collapse and the innings needs to be rebuillt.

Drop Prince for Bosman.
And try to squeeze Nel in there somewhere. Nel bowls well to the left handed batsmen.

Hall did some really good death bowling though against OZ, like 3 off the last over...

you realize he is the only decent spinner we have

bosman is a great batsmen and good for the quota so its a win win

I'm not sure about Bosman - he's terrific in Twenty20 but I haven't been too impressed with him so far in the 50 over format.

Maybe it's in the mindset, if we could train him to treat a 50 over match as an extended Twenty20 match, and even if he only lasts 10-15 overs we could very well have the worlds next dangerous batsman.

doobiwan, Peterson may be our best spinner, but I'm not sure he's good enough to expose to the Aussies, Sri Lankans or other top intl teams. It is a real problem we have - and Peterson is not the answer (nor Adams or Boje, for that matter).

Don't think that they're going to say anything. However I found the following quite interesting:

Following the defeat to Australia, much was made of the manner in which Jacques Kallis batted for his 48, but Smith understandably didn't want to say anything too critical about a man whose batting has been the bedrock of recent success. "As we do after every game, win or lose, we debrief and discuss areas we can improve on," he said. "It was a hard thing for me to comment on at the time because I was with the doctor and the physio getting ready to get back out there. But Jacques is an experienced cricketer. He might have made a mistake, he might not have. You just have to make sure the same mistakes don't happen twice."

While they don't want to comment, it seems as though there's a subtle hint that they do realise he is a problem and they're working on it, and their acknowledgment of his poor strike rate is encouraging. Let's wait and see how Kallis performs tomorrow though.

Peterson might be the best we got at local level, but that's still p!ss poor at international level. I would rather have Smith, Gibbs, Prince and whoever can turn an arm bowl in place of peterson.
