Agree with you chiskop. We all were/are p1ssed off with SA just giving up. I can forgive Gibbs because he had a calf strain but Kemp and the rest not.

I am wondering what they will do..
bowl first has its advantage as fast bowlers will get the most of pitch with 1st usage apparently BUT with the windies newer pitches it seems it slows up a bit so batting 2nd might suck.. tho i think it slows up after a few days but u never know with this newer pitches.

So SA bat/bowl?

They should bat and aim for about 280. If they get more... Yipee.

Who knows. We might get a 400 /Joke over
 
SA must bat first if they win the toss - a score of 300 is definitely on the cards, and the power plays against average fielding should prove to be good times for the top order.
 
PS. I just thought about something, maybe someone should email Kas at the SABC Sport studios and give a link to this thread, myADSL could get some nice exposure on TV and maybe one of our posts will get read on TV. *blush* :)
 
naaaa i would like to see bosman come in after the opening 2 because there is no doubt de villiers can destroy any attack

C'mon killa. How many ducks does de Villiers have in the World Cup so far? On his day, he can destroy attacks, even Australia's. But to say there is "no doubt" is a stretch.
 
Well almost THE ONE, Im feo not neo. :)

Are you willing to roll the dice that AB gets a duck or a hundred? I would prefer him at 3 rather than Kallis, but we'll see how it goes.

AB has no 100s, but ill say he will go under 50.

I hope the Windies pull up their socks, I wanna watch a good game tonight, its coooold!!
 
yup i know, he is a live wire

but give bosman a chance at opening and see

i would love to see him cement a place in the team because i think he is an awesome batsmen

I said it before If I would rank Bosman He'll be lower than Afridi. But a good perfomance from him today will be good.:)
 
Why not let kallis open with smith.. now before u say no, consider this.. The wickets in windies seem to skittle out openers in the 1st 10 ov unless you prepare to take it easy for the 1st 5 or so.. and thats kallis game plan. 2ndly, no fast quick qickets puts opposition under pressure and kallis has been batting 2nd anyway with de villiers going early xcept now we'd have an exciting batsman lurking, waiting to come in. Smith a kallis are ok together, de villiers too.

Best batsmen should be openers since they have the whole innings to bat and form the foundation around which others can take the game to the opposition.

3rdly.. what have we got to lose considering how often he has to come in early lately..

I think that 3,5,7,9 should be big hitters.

And then stable batters on the other ends. If a big hitter falls u have 2 stable men at the crease. the next wicket fall u have a big hitter again.

Select four bowlers and let the 5th set be make up of people like smith etc bowling.
