Exactly. Except we played it safe, and still didn't see out our 50 overs.

So perhaps we'd have been better off actually hitting out: We probably still would have lost, but at least we'd be giving ourselves a chance to win, possibly improving our NRR, and looking like a team with some fight in it.

NOW THAT I AGREE WITH.

SA must beat West Indies convincingly to get back on track. This is a big game for us, obviously - but probably even more so for the Windies. A home game in front of their home crowd who pay a lot of money to support their boys means a hell of a lot is riding on it for them. I think we're in for one of the best games of the tournament today. The Windies definitely like taking us on - some of them almost thrive on it.

we better play an extra bowler!

O another point.

We have 5 bowlers.

Which means 1 less batter.

Aussies have 4 bowlers and make a mix to complete the 5th bowling set.

You may argue that Pollock can bat but I haven't seen him bat yet

Let's just support our team today and hope we win...what happened against Bangladesh is history and hope we've learnt from it. If don't make semis this time we need a new team. We need to give our younger players a chance now.

There's an idea!! :)

Ye and put some Indians in the team!

Smart arse! :D :p

:D Im sure theres a couple Naidoo's in Durban that can bowl at 160kmh!
Besides everyone that knows me, know my little "prediction" that SA will only win the WC when they have an Indian in the team.

SA against Bang just showed that we dont have a set plan when chasing, or even if we did our guys are just too nervous to stick it out and stay calm out there in the middle. I mean just look at the Aussies, they never let the reqd run rate climb above 6 against England. We let the run rate climb, lose wickets, panic and when its time for the big hitting to get ourselves out of k@k we got guys like Kemp playing like its the WC of test matches. So Smith has to have learnt from the past few matches, go out with a set plan, mix it up a bit because everyone can see we're just too 1 dimensional. We have Bosman in the squad so what use is it just having him taking the drink during the drinks break, give him a run. Maybe push de Villiers down the order a bit, let Langevelt and Nel open the bowling. Do SOMETHING different!

That loss takes the piss out of all the 438 fan boys!!
We can chase 438 but cant chase 251 VS Bangladesh.

:D
To be fair (and I am pretty sure you've used this argument before), the 438 game was completely out of kilter of world cricket. That and it wasn't played on a slow wicket that was deteriorating quickly resulting in lower and lower bounce.

No your wrong there.

SA went out with nothing to lose and moered the k.a.k out of the ball. That is what they should be doing not playing Test cricket in the CWC !

I agree - SA should push the strike rate all the time - but horses for courses as they say mate ;)

Todays match is gonna be a cracker, cant wait! I hope Nel intimidates the **** out of Gayle and Lara (thats if Nel is playing).

Dont think Nel has guts to stick his tongue out at Gayle!!:p

I agree here. I'd rather lose trying this method than lose tamely as in the Bangladesh match.
