So, honourable members, I'm stuck.
I'm in the second last chapter of our Visual Basic handbook about Databases. As expected, Access databases will be used (gives me Delphi flashbacks).

I've followed the instructions at the back of the book using the specific link they gave there for installing 2007 ODCC, didn't work. I used Google Search, but Microsoft doesn't host it anymore. I found a copy on CNet. I installed, restarted, and still nothing. I found a 2010 ODCC 64-bit exe, but once again still nothing.

I'm stuck at just linking a DataSource to my BindingSource component to actually connect the ****ing db I'm meant to use for an exercise. When I click on "Test Connection" it gives me this error:
The ‘Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0’ provider is not registered on the local machine.

What can I do here? Since I can't finish the chapter or its assignment or even the final assignment without getting this working.

Ok, so out of desperation I restarted the laptop again, and went into the solution...

IT ****ING WORKS NOW...!? Thx Microsoft...

Do you think your teachers know about what the future holds?

They have started to phase out VB with C#.

I'm in the last cohort for VB, the second years are doing C# from this year, and the final years next year...

And a pity to be sure, I actually like VB (at least it is a lot better than Delphi).
