2010/2011 Transfer Thread

hehe no shortage of wives/bitches at the chavs with the likes of A.Cole, Terry and Lampard ;)

I dunno Torres at chelski may just shorten his ability to play and increase his ability to whine like a biach :D Just look at Anelka's attack on Grant complaining how Grant screwed him up and made him miss that penalty... I mean come on how can you blame others for your inability to scroe from the spot?!@?!??!

@fishfly - Anelka never liked Grant, but he brought it up because of the mind games. So did Ivanovic wheras some players praised him. Hot/cold tactic.

If they take Bosingwa and Kalou it would really help us in terms of the foreign player cut down we are going through. So yeah - why not. Torress for Kalou - no brainer. Drogba has shown he can play a more withdrawn role and it could be used to phase out his importance in the Chelsea team. The only worrying thing is Torres' view on the game in England. He admits he's too fragile and doesn't seem to be willing to do something about it...

I see Kun is linked to Chelsea.

What a buy that would be.

Chamakh was apparently in London last night completing the deal with Arsenal (sky)

Italian press claims stevie g had dinner with the inter president last friday.

Ironic, cos if I remember correctly, Grant signed Anelka from Bolton? I could be wrong tho - seem to remember it being Grant.

BTW its absoulute class. Then again i am a season ticket holder at Bramall Lane.

Just on my way out of the ground when a white Lambo pulls up with a german reg.

Ballacks? Nope.

Ribery walked out of the ground in his jeans an a jacket. A lass got out and got in the passanger seat and drove off.Just been for a V.I.P. tour of your ground.

Can't guarantee that it's not a prank, but I hope the deal falls through. Rather have Kun - no Torress or Ribery. fck 'em

Oh yeah - an a "Goal.com UK Exclusive" says that Fab handed in a transfer request... would love to know what actually happened. Maybe he was just crying because his leg was sore? :p

So I hear Henry might leave Barca for the NY bulls in the MLS... really? why would he do that? I mean dont get me wrong the MLS is an up & coming league with LOTS of money but should a guy of Henry's reputua go there? Im sure Arsenal will welcome him back with open arms, esp if Cesc go's the other way, but I recall an interview of him last year saying that IF he had to join any other club in th EPL it would be Liverpool, so if that was'nt a "wink wink nudge nudge" comment then I dont know what is. Well obviously in 08/09 we had a cracker & lots of guys wanted to come to us but he always spoke fondly of LFC & I think if will be worth it to take a look into him. He is a natural scorer although he did use his hand once the rest of the time his foot was pretty handy. He reads the game well, still is fast, hardly was injured... well then again he was hardly used at Barca enough to get injured but you see where Im going with this. If he wants out at Barca I doubt they will hold on to him for a hefty figure & since Liverpool can only afford scraps for now he would be a quality addition.

Pinch of salt as always mate. I remember this time last year on the United forums, some dude said his brother who works at at hotel in Manchester saw either Ribery or Kun Aguero check in.

I wonder if that dude who toured the Bridge was offered a private tour by JT or some nose candy by his dad.

You must be watching the wrong Henry then. The Henry at Barca has lost his pace and picks up injuries every other week. He will go on the cheap this transfer.

Of course, never intended it to be a "fully checked out source" and all that. Just an interesting tidbit to throw out there.:)

Reported by Sky Sport's Guillem Balague

Barcelona’s long-running pursuit of Arsenal FC midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fábregas (22) appears finally to be nearing a successful conclusion. The Arsenal midfielder has apparently made it clear to Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger that the time is right for him to return to the Camp Nou, as revealed by renowned Spanish football expert Guillem Balague on his personal blog and also to Madrid sports paper AS.

Fábregas went back to Catalonia tonight after a brief spell in London undergoing medical tests on his fractured leg, suffered against Barça in March, having indicated to Wenger that he now wishes to leave them after seven years in England. The manager will seek to speak with the 23-year-old again later this week, though it appears the Spaniard’s mind is made up.

The Gunners have been consistently resistant to losing a player who arrived from Camp Nou as a 16-year-old and has become their talisman in recent trophyless seasons, and may insist he hands in a formal transfer request before allowing any move to progress. However, they will effectively have little choice but to sanction a transfer now that he has made it clear he does not wish to stay.

Barcelona hope to secure the player for around £30m, and could offer to include the unsettled Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Touré or even the Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic as part of the deal, though there is no guarantee that the Londoners would accept either player. They will seek nearer £40m for their captain, a demand that will prompt what is likely to prove a protracted and fractious period of negotiations, with Wenger having gone on record towards the end of last season that he was under “no financial pressure” to sell.

Yet there is an acceptance at Arsenal that where previous attempts from Barça to secure the player have been successfully deflected, they will be fighting a losing battle on this occasion. Fábregas, who has four years to run on a contract signed back in 2006, indicated last week that he hoped to clarify his future before the World Cup finals, with the outgoing Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, anxious to conclude deals for the midfielder and the Valencia striker David Villa ahead of the club’s presidential elections on 13 June.

Laporta would consider the eye-catching signings to be his legacy to the Spanish champions.

I don't see Fabragas leaving arsenal this next campaign to go bench warm at barca... then again he doesn't need to impress as the WC will be over, so if he does go it'll most likely be for the money :D

BREAKING NEWS: OFFICIAL: Barcelona Sign David Villa From Valencia

The Catalans have secured the services of David Villa from Valencia...

Reigning Spanish champions Barcelona have completed the transfer of prolific hitman David Villa from fellow La Liga outfit Valencia for a reputed fee of €40 million. The striker has signed a four-year deal at his new club.

The Spanish international was continually being linked with a move away from Valencia in the past couple of weeks and a transfer only appeared to be a matter of time when Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed earlier this week that negotiations between Barcelona and Valencia were ongoing.

Both parties have now reached an agreement about the transfer of the highly rated attacker, as Valencia confirmed on a press conference on Wednesday, and Villa will ply his trade at Barcelona next term.

Villa joined Valencia from Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2005 and has since developed into one of the best strikers around in the Primera Division. The 28-year-old has so far scored 109 league goals in 166 appearances.

The arrival of Villa could very well mean the end of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Catalan powerhouse. The former Inter star has failed to find his best form at Barcelona since joining the club last summer and has been linked with a move away from the Spanish champions more than once in the past couple of weeks.

Villa has been in superb form all season and currently sits sixth in the Castrol Rankings.
