THe middle to rich class in South Africa is about 20% of the population, it kinda sucks telling the 80% that we rich people are better off because we can afford it.

Mexico also has an uneven income distribution. They didn't give the tickets away at the world cups they hosted either. Nobody ever promised that they would sell the tickets at a loss or give the tickets away to the poor. The world cup is still a commercial event.

Lancelot beat me to it. Look at the Ashes packages , yet you still have the barmy army coming everytime. The Sydney OG packages were also more expensive.

Guys, engage the brain or do some reserarch please before whinging and insulting people like Danny Jordaan etc. It is easier and cheaper for Europeans to travel to SA than Aus, and if they don't like the packages they can organsie their own trip...its their choice.

When they handed the WC to SA, did you guys think you were all getting free tickets?

Visitor number predictions will have to be toned down but 2/3 of tickets are sold, with two phases to go.

Every CT match will be sold out.

Im so sick of every second friend of mine going on about how much they are going to get for renting their house over the world cup,yet 6months ago they were saying the WC was going to be moved and will be saying 6months after the WC that the WC sucked because nobody wanted to rent out their 5square metre flat for R2000 a day.

My gf's friends struggled to find a flat in cape town last week, would only let them stay til june.lol.

The cost is not limited to Africa, i know everyone thinks we are always expensive but it is normal to pay through your arse. Taking chances and making things expensive is not just an African thing either.

Considering the exchange rate i highly any UK people will have problems. You can be sure they have been saving for four years.
