Parked the bus to the Cup...can't say well done cause they got too much luck in the entire competition, but meh, congrats Chelsea.

Don't hate.
Tactics need to change to get that win... and what happened? Chelsea got that win, against Barca and Bayern at Home to lift the trophy. Luck has nothing to do with it, so again don't hate.

If you win the European Cup in your opponents backyard no one can say you haven't earned it.

like... true story :)

RT @Rachaelwith2As Frank Lampard on the phone later."Uncle Harry,Uncle Harry, isn't it amazing?I've won the champions league! Oh....awkward

:D

Chelsea didn't change their tactics at all. Defend for your lives and hope to get luckt.

No, that's a gross over-simplification. while we did defend stoically, we did hit them a few times and they had a few counter-attacking chances as well. I'm not saying we didn't ride our luck, but to put it down only to that is just absurd.

Arjen Robben has been losing big Finals, so soon he lost CL Final, WC Final, and CL Final again.

I dunno Luiz should have been given the marching orders in the 90 minute...

Bayern seems like they had 2 players wanting to outshine each other in the entire match... Ribery and Robben

Cahill was so bad I really feel sorry for England @ the Euros

Hate? Uhm...no. The record will show they got the win, but can't say they were deserving with their anti-football tactics, imo. Of all the semi-finalists the other 3 teams were far superior attacking sides, don't think anyone can deny that. Call me a purist, but generally one would like to see the best football playing teams win...in that aspect Barca, Bayern and Real were more deserving, in that order. Didn't happen, just hope it won't now set a trend in Europe where lesser teams will adopt the parking the bus strategy since who knows, you can become European champions that way....

o.O

Set a trend? Hope it doesn't set a trend??!?!

Helenio Herrera's catennacio way back was defensive minded. Mourinho won the Champions League like that. It's not like this type of football is new. Purist? Go learn a bit of footballing history before you spout your rubbish.

:wtf: jeez, sensitive much?

Nobody said this is a new type of football, or that teams haven't won that way before. However one reason why for example Pep's Barcelona is touted as one of the greatest sides in recent times is because they played a flowing attacking football which is enjoyable to watch, that won many trophies with flair, creativity and skilful play. Don't see many of those defensive minded sides mentioned in the same category.

So if my preference of attractive, attacking football winning trophies rather than dour, defensive anti-football is 'spouting rubbish', then keep on smoking the good stuff dude. :erm:

I took umbridge at your less than smart use of the word "trend", not with your style preference. Comprende?

Why is defensive football branded anti-football?
defense is part of football. Teams play to their strengths would be rather silly to do otherwise. Sure it's not pretty but it's part of the game.

There is no such thing as anti-football.

Defence is part of the game, if a team has to sit deep and defend for 95% of the match to win then good on them.

Exactly. If your tactic I'd to defend and be clinical with your chances good on you, just because it's not as easy on the eye doesn't make it anti-football.

Yes that is how Italy won the WORLD CUP!

The best offence is having the best defence :)
