They said it's basically Renault SA's fault, not even anything to do with stock.
Renault SA is blowing their advertising budget on Kwids, Stepways and Clios and these are all top sellers. But they're not promoting the Megane as much as they should be...

I agree, come to think of it i've never seen a single Megane ad.

Not sure actually, didn't check that on my test drive, I was more interested in giving it the beans. Only saw the buttons for cruise control and speed limiter. Can let you know sometime next week?
It has standard Cruise Control.

Cool thanks guys. It's a shame about the cruise control.
But... if all goes well then hopefully I'll also drive a Megane in the next 6 months. Let us know how things go Mike!

Yup
Pulled the trigger on a Megane GT today. Basically new, 100 km on the clock for R374,900.
The Renault Retail group basically acquired a few of them and pre-registered them as 2018 models, but they're sitting in a warehouse. Technically they're demos, but since there's no mileage it's actually new. Fourways, Northcliff and East Rand are part of the group.
Congrats! really looks nice in white. Is that the 162kw one?

Test driving cars is dangerous. From experience the last 3 times I did it, i put in an OTP

The days of the 162kw are long gone, the Gt is now more expensive with less power output, it's 151kw.
Such a pity, would make a great Warm/Hot hatch

151kw & ironically the other French rival, the 308 GT, also makes 151kw.

New GT for 375k is not gonna happen again. Don't even think you can get a base Golf Comfortline for that price, let alone with the same equipment.
Once the pre-registered stock is out, you'll have to order at the list price at 460k, or buy 2nd hand...
