Mamadou Sakho: Liverpool will demand £20m for out-of-favour defender

Liverpool will demand £20m for defender Mamadou Sakho if he moves during the January transfer window.

Galatasaray and Sevilla have shown an interest in the 26-year-old, while Southampton are also considering a move after captain Jose Fonte asked to leave St Mary's.

The France international signed a new long-term deal at Anfield in 2015.

But he has not played for the first team since April because of off-field issues.

Sakho was sent home from Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States by manager Jurgen Klopp as a disciplinary measure.

He was also handed a 30-day suspension by Uefa in April for testing positive for a prohibited substance following a Europa League tie against Manchester United the previous month.

Liverpool decided to make Sakho unavailable for selection while the disciplinary process was ongoing and he subsequently missed the Europa League final defeat by Sevilla in Basel.

Uefa failed to impose a further ban after Sakho's defence team questioned whether the substance, understood to be a fat-burner, should have been on its prohibited list.

The central defender has made 56 league appearances in three years at Liverpool but is currently training with the under-23 squad.

People always say swop plus cash but I can't actually remember any deals like that. I think it's mostly a result of people playing Championship Manager.

We took Cole from Newcastle for 7m + Gillespie (the throwback to previous transfer windows reminded me).
 
Morgan Schneiderlin: Man Utd and Everton agree £22m fee for midfielder

Manchester United have agreed to sell midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton for £22m.

France international Schneiderlin, 27, was signed for United by Louis van Gaal for £25m from Southampton in July 2015.

He has played 47 times for the club but has only featured eight times under Jose Mourinho this season, including three Premier League appearances.

Everton have also agreed to loan striker Oumar Niasse, 26, to Hull, with personal terms still to be agreed.

The Senegal international signed for £13.5m from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016 but has played only seven times.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman demanded the club make January signings in the wake of their FA Cup third-round exit to Leicester.

They have already signed 19-year-old forward Ademola Lookman from Charlton for £11m.

If Schneiderlin, who was also a reported target for West Brom, completes his move to Goodison Park he will work with Koeman for a second time, having spent two years under the Dutchman at Southampton.
