2016 Suzuki Baleno

Anybody here have a previous generation Baleno that can comment on reliability and maintenance and service costs? I'm considering buying and older GL manual for my daily commute (2018 ish with > 90 000 km)

IIRC the 2018 is now two versions behind the current. 2019 is the previous. We picked up one of those last month and are very happy with it.

Went to Suzuki today. Picking up my Baleno GL on Monday :)
Anyway, I went to an office with the salesperson where she showed me the list of people who paid R2k holding deposits to reserve a Suzuki (across the range) and I was really surprised.

There are close to or maybe even more than a 100 people who paid holding deposits. That is just from one dealership.

What I did like was the number of Balenos on order. I'm pretty sure it's on par with the Swifts. Might be wrong but it seemed like it.

Congrats man.

Generally the smart money is saying the GL is the way to go.

Which dealership/area was this for context?

Paying holding deposit for a Suzuki? Are they becoming collectors items or something?

Congratulations on your new motor and enjoy it.

Tygervalley. They seem to be selling cars like hot cakes. While I was there on Friday for about half an hour they were doing 3 deliveries. Suzuki seems to be on a roll in SA!

Its because of low available stock in SA. I remember they started that with the Jimny when the new one launched. If you pay a holding deposit(refundable) they will allocate the first one in the color you asked for to you depending on where you are on the list. There are currently a 4 to 6 week waiting period for a Baleno GL and Swift GLX. This was also confirmed by Suzuki in N1 City.
