Apparently the agent (Neymar Sr) stands to earn 58m - 25m for loyality bonus, and 33m for the transfer of Neymar to PSG... WTF

With all these silly numbers flying about Griezmans buyout drops to 85 million when the window closes. Looks a bargain for a January bid.

I don't think so because that is when Costa would have been able to start playing if they signed him kind of like Barca did with Arda Turan.

You say that and yes they have history, but things can change and power can shift to some extent. I for one will be watching PSG. Supersport may even now buy some rights for the PSG games (if they dont show it already). I watch RM for Ronaldo and wont watch them otherwise. I watched Barca for Neymar and wont sit through a game now

Plus, if they win the CL - they will have more justification for their big spending and can attract even more players - not just for money, but for top honors

I hear ya..and like I said..its more about watching Ronaldo destroy a team

EPL is pure enjoyment coz as you said...not very predictable

Coutinho might now become more of a priority..Not even a poor mans Neymar, but seems like they want him

Mbappe wants RM

Whatever the case, Barca will definitely be tapping up some players and there will be movement from all jose that may have said they staying at their clubs this year

They said the same thing in 1979 when the first million pound transfer took place. 20 years ago Ronaldo was the most expensive transfer at 20 million Euro. Watch this space in 10 years we'll be seeing the first billion Euro transfer.

Yep, I don't think people realised the sheer amount of money in big sport these days. football is a huge market. TV rights, merchandise, corporate sponsorships, lots of people getting rich. best part is that there's lots of product, if you have a team that you support, there is the brand, 38 PL games a season, bits and bobs and the magic that is the FA cup ... agreed, that first billion transfer is very likely in the next decade.

You could say that with the end of the Bretton Woods system in 81 this is just a timebomb waiting to explode .. or should that be implode? either way, it isn't just football.
 
I think Wenger is right you will see more players moving to the end of their final year of contracts.
