All-new i30...so so on the looks...engine tech much much better...

The New Generation Hyundai i30 is powered by a range of small-displacement turbo charged petrol and diesel engines delivering a dynamic and efficient driving experience. There are three petrol engines and one diesel engine. Customers can choose between the new 1.4 T-GDI turbocharged four cylinder engine - a Hyundai first - with 140 PS, the 1.0 T-GDI turbocharged three cylinder engine with 120 PS or the 1.4 MPI four cylinder with 100 PS and one diesel engine: the 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, available with three power outputs: 95, 110 and 133 PS. CO2 emissions starting from as low as 89g CO2/km (target values). Mated to the engines is either the six-speed manual transmission (6MT) or Hyundai's efficient and direct-responding seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT)."

Hyundai has confirmed the all-new Hyundai i30 will spawn a whole family of vehicles.

At the presentation of the new five-door model in Frankfurt today, the brand’s design chief Peter Schreyer flashed a slide on the screen that revealed outline drawings for the other models in the range, but did not give any further details on them.

At present, Hyundai has only confirmed a high-performance N version of the i30 is coming in 2017. This is set to be called RN30, according to recent trademark applications.

The N version could be the model depicted in the middle of the three line drawings, as its profile seems to match the proportions of the five-door hatchback. However, this model could also be a low-riding crossover that could sit below the Tucson in Hyundai’s range.

The other two line drawings are easier to decipher. The model on the far right is the estate version of the i30, while the one on the left appears to be a swoopy four-door saloon-come-coupé, not too dissimilar in profile to the i40 saloon model.

Hyundai wants to become the number one Asian brand in Europe by 2020, and the firm’s European marketing chief Jochen Sengpiehl said that an expanded i30 range was a key part of that strategy.

But would it be over priced like the rest of the new Hyundai's?

Yep 200k 7 year warranty is standard.

Ok where do I sign without the wife knowing ! I really like this!

I really hope our version which will probably be build in India ,will still have the touch screen.
 
My 2011 i30 was built in the Czech Republic, some models were assembled in Korea and China but they had some inferior parts here and there. A smaller batch was made in Egypt as well.

Of the new ones I can only speculate but I presume they will be assembled where the current GD models are made, being CZ and Korea.

I am not too mad about the chrome door handles as they look a bit garish, the overall package looks neat but I think I will reserve judgment until I see one in the flesh. I do however expect to see very few of them around due to Hyundai's absurd pricing.

I'd rather buy the Mazda 3 if it were my money :)

After releasing a teaser image about a month back, Hyundai has now fully revealed the new Golf-fighting i30 ahead of its official premiere at the Paris Motor Show.

Billing the third-generation hatchback as “the new people’s car”, the Korean automaker promises that the i30 will deliver a “comfortable and dynamic driving experience”.

Interestingly, though, Hyundai also revealed that the new i30 will be “more than just one model”, explaining that it will effectively become “a family of unique products”. So, other than the upcoming performance i30 N derivative, we can also likely expect some sort of hybrid or electric spin-off.

But, initially at least, the new model will be powered by a range of small-displacement petrol and diesel engines.

Depending on the market, customers will be able to choose between the new 103 kW 1,4 T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the 88 kW 1,0 T-GDI turbocharged three-cylinder unit and the 73 kW 1,4 MPI four-cylinder mill, as well as one diesel engine (the 1,6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder oil-burner, albeit in various states of tune).

Either a six-speed manual transmission or Hyundai’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be mated to these engines.

I see a little of the Volvo V40 in the design, mainly around the rear. With some of the lines in the front fenders and doors bearing a similarity to the Golf 7.

A nice looking car. Just would like to see larger/ more powerful engines. The Fiat designed Multiair engine is still my favourite; 125KW from a 1.4 turbo.

I have always had great respect for Hyundai. They have built a solid brand over the years and the warranty and service plans make them very attractive.
