2017 Mazda 3 (3rd Generation facelift)

Can someone please explain the 3 year warranty to me, when their competition all offer 5 years?
The average driver doesnt need Unlimited KM's.

Mazda drivers love to drive so...

Not bad. I still think the price is way to high. Mazda should realise they are a cheap brand until they are able to build a name for themselves again.

Why do you think they are a cheap brand or have a bad reputation?

Lol....at "cheap".

If Mazda is a "cheap" brand then what is the Koreans then ie. Sunday & Kia?
Kia has already made a name for themselves they cover the entire range from cheap with the picanto, to nice quality mid level cars.
Sunday? can't comment.
Mazda's name don't really come close the the top brands, sure the mazda 2 & 3 is okay cars, but for example the mazda 2 don't even compete with other hot hatches like the ST in your name its almost everyones last choice.
So the have to complete on price.

Not sure about the confusion about Sunday. Sunday = Hyundai. (How it's pronounced).

You have obviously a skewed view of Mazda. That's your thing & you are entitled to that.

Your other point is the Mazda 2 that has no performance derivative to rival the Fiesta ST. So what? Contrary to belief the vast majority of vehicle buyers are *not* petrol heads.

Have you actually spend some (hands on) time with the current Gen models (2;3;CX-3;CX5 & MX-5)? I can assure their cars are excellent & have a great balance between modern & catering for an enjoyable drive if one so desires.

If you have been monitoring the local sales charts then one can see Mazda is actually on a resurgence after being under the shadows of Ford SA for many many years.

Lastly don't forget the Mazda nameplate has a great legacy in SA built up from many years of trust.

TL;DR:

Mazda makes quality cars.

I like the mx5. not really a car I would buy for myself, but awesome nonetheless.
I believe it is quality cars. They are just still stuck in the shadows and perception matters quite a lot. (but maybe its only me)
Great if they are on their way up.

If anyone thinks Mazda are "cheap" cars.

The three year warranty is one of the reasons I bought a Mazda. A five year warranty with a low mileage is of no use to me, and I'll be covered for roughly double the distance that I'd be covered on a 5 year 100 000km plan. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it's a great option for me.

I traded a 2007 BMW X3 in on a new Mazda CX-3 last year, and I can tell you that while I'm really enjoying the Mazda, it's not a BMW.

So some time ago I called Mazda to expensive. Seems like I was wrong, compared to simular cars they are nicely priced.

BMW. Too close.
I thought so too but then I compared the prices as I wanted to see how Mazda got to the monthly instalments above.
So a standard 3.18i the cheapest 3 serries you could get with no extras starts at R488600
The Mazda 3s start from R226k
With the most expensive Mazda3 on their price list Mazda3 Astina plus 5dr R364 825.
Mazda apears to be almost R200k 40-50% cheaper on all their cars
