Generally no, it's not a case of simply having the phone being charged by some source and then it magically operates over BT.
At least I know for Apple that's the case so not sure with the various Androids.

VW Tiguan and Touareg Get Black Styling Packs
Dark art applied to VW SUVs.
VW SUV customers, who prefer darkened styling details to reflective ones, now have the option on two new design upgrades.
Both the Touareg and Tiguan are now available with a Black Style Package in South Africa – and it does pretty much what it says.
For the Touareg, this Black Style Package is only applicable to the Executive derivative. The upgrades tally an R-specification bumper, with blackened chrome styling elements, darkened air-intakes, black roof rails and wing mirrors.
VW has quoted R25 200 as the price for a Tiguan Black Style Package upgrade. If you don’t mind washing your VW SUV more than once a week, these darkened design upgrades will certainly be worth considering.

Volkswagen South Africa is adding some presence to its Tiguan and Touareg with the release of a Black Style Package for both SUVs.
On Tiguan models, the pack is available with the Comfortline and Highline trim grades, only when the R-Line package is specified, and it costs an extra R25 200.
This buys you an ‘R’ style front bumper, full colour coding for the bumpers and lower door parts, black air intakes and grille fins as well as black colouring for the side window trim, mirror housings and roof rails.
Opting for the Black Style Package also gets you a sports suspension system, while the cabin is distinguished by black headlining.
Wheel options differ depending on the trim grade, with Comfortline models getting 19-inch Sebring alloy wheels and Highline vehicles sporting black 20-inch Suzuki rims.
Engine options, as per the regular Tiguan models, include 92kW and 110kW 1.4 TSI, and 162kW 2.0 TSI, turbopetrol engines as well as 2.0 TDI turbodiesels with output levels of 81kW, 105kW and 130kW.

A fresh report out of the United Kingdom suggests the next-generation version of the Volkswagen Tiguan will adopt a coupé-like profile.
According to Auto Express, VW’s reported plan to hand the third-generation Tiguan – which is expected to arrive in 2022 – swoopier styling is a bid to set it apart from the German firm’s upcoming range of all-electric, ID-badged SUVs.
The report (which is accompanied by a handful of speculative renders) said Volkswagen design chief Klaus Bischoff would be afforded the chance to take a more “radical approach” to designing the exterior of the next Tiguan.
Interestingly, though, Auto Express sources claimed the next-gen Tiguan’s luggage capacity would remain largely unchanged despite the sloping roofline. The publication furthermore pointed out the extended Allspace variant would continue to be offered for those seeking added practicality.

VW SA trims Tiguan range (and discontinues TDI-badged Allspace)
Volkswagen South Africa has trimmed its Tiguan range from six derivatives to five, while also discontinuing the only TDI variant in the Tiguan Allspace line-up (taking the latter’s total to four models).
The Tiguan 2,0 TDI Comfortline, which had employed a 2,0-litre turbodiesel engine sending 81 kW and 280 N.m to its front axle via a six-speed manual gearbox, is no longer part of the local range. It was priced at R505 800 before its removal from VW SA’s price list.
Interestingly, though, the Tiguan 2,0 TDI 4Motion Comfortline, which has drive directed to all four corners through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, has had its peak power increased from 105 kW to 110 kW (maximum torque is unchanged at 340 N.m). The price for this variant has increased by R2 800 to R568 800.
And the Allspace range? Well, only TSI-powered models remain after the Tiguan AllSpace 2,0 TDI (which was fitted with the 110 kW/340 N.m oil-burner mentioned above) was removed from the line-up. This variant had been priced at R597 000 before its discontinuation.

High-performance Volkswagen Tiguan R reportedly launching only in 2021
A fresh report out of Australia suggests the long-awaited Volkswagen Tiguan R will launch only in 2021, some time after the standard version of the SUV has been facelifted.
According to motoring.com.au, the high-performance Tiguan R won’t arrive with the expected facelift in 2020, but will instead join the range the following year. However, VW does reportedly plan to show off a concept previewing the Tiguan R at some point in 2020.
Citing a “senior Volkswagen source”, the Australian publication said the Tiguan R would draw its urge from an uprated version of the firm’s familiar turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (likely borrowed from the Golf R), sending drive to all four corners thanks to the firm's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
