I'm buying and got the first bond offer today at prime+0.29%.

It's been a while since I've done this. Is this an ok rate in 2018?

If you got a home loan this year, what were the rates you were offered?

I bought a property this year and got Prime less 0.65% with RMB.

I personally wouldn't accept anything less than prime less on a immovable property - but this depends on (1) your financial risk of default generally; (2) how much is being financed (generally the more the finance amount, the less the interest rate) and (3) the term.

I just extended mine and got prime less 0.5%....

We do a lot of sales and the average is prime +, very very few are prime below.

Got prime -0.6 in December last year on a 100% bond

I'm 29 prime less 0.65 100% bond 1.7m 20yr term with FNB had nothing else with them when bond was approved. It was also a freestanding house

Free hold. As you can get free standing units in sectional titles as well.
I got prime - 0.25 with FNB

I got a bond back in March (2nd property) - note Prime @ 10.25%:

10.25% - SA Home Loans (who I have existing bond with - fsckers)
9.85% - Standard Bank
9.65% - Nedbank
Absa / FNB - didn't bother to get back to me (and I bank with FNB - 2nd bond they've lost out on)

Then prime got adjusted @ 10.00% - so currently my Nedbank home loan is on 9.45% (20% deposit)

So prime -0.65%

Age: 31

We got a bond last year, best rate was with ABSA at prime less 1.05pp with Standard Bank a close second at prime less 1.02pp. FNB declined due to an ongoing issue my SO has with a falsely lodged judgement, Investec offered prime less 05pp after taking nearly 3 weeks to process the application. I bank with Standard Bank so pushed them to match ABSA so I could keep everything with them but they refused to budge.

Prime -2%

Purchase price 1.2m, deposit 300k, bond 900k, Jhb South
