2023 Volvo EX90 (EV)

Volvo EX90 deliveries start this month, the cars are being shipped to dealers right now

Volvo kicked off production of the EX90 in the US in June, following a year-long delay caused by software issues - it was originally due to start in 2023. All's well that ends well, the saying goes, and today the brand is proudly announcing that the first customers will get their EX90 cars by the end of this month.

The first batch is being shipped to Volvo retailers in the US and Europe right now. Volvo plans to ramp up deliveries and include more markets "between the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2025", according to its official press release on the matter. So at some point between October and March, the ramp-up should have occurred.

I wonder what makes Volvo think that any / many people will buy their oversized, overpriced, overweight, over-engineered, overpowered, behemoth. Mind you, I suppose there are some people with big money and small brains (did I say brains, I meant p...) who will buy one and install 3 phase power at home. What with escom wanting a 44% increase, charging the behemoth should be expensive. But then, hey, what do I know?
