20GB Advanced bundle - data used before SIM inserted in modem

This morning I purchased an Advanced MyGig 20 Once-off data bundle, and guys, am I IMPRESSED! I now know what the "Advanced" is all about. It is the fastest data transfer I have ever experienced.

Maybe it would be better if I explained what I did:
  1. I removed my Vodacom sim from my modem and placed it on the table, about 20cm from the modem.
  2. I inserted my Cell C sim in my modem.
  3. I then switched on my notebook.
  4. Using the Cell C sim I logged in on my bank's site and made a payment to my Vodacom prepaid account.
  5. I logged in on Vodacom's site and purchased the data bundle.
  6. And then I checked my data balance... Somehow my modem managed to use the sim that was lying some distance away to transfer data, and not a few bytes, a full 355.06Mb in a few seconds! Wow, is that exceptional or am I just lucky?

Vodacom, kindly explain how I could have used 355.06Mb of data before I even inserted my sim into my modem? And no, it is still NOT in the modem, and it is NOT in a phone either. Amazingly though, the mini-statement shows NO use since my son used the modem last night to check his email.

Hi Leon , i have also checked your usage report and noticed that at the time of your post , you never used data yet , as your first session started at 10:38 on the 1st.

You can send me your email address and i will forward you the report.

That's when I started using the data bundle yes, but when I checked my balance immediately after purchasing it, it showed use of 355.06Mb. Replied to your pm
