When they last phoned me a few month back they offered me something for R399pm, can't remember what...
That's what I was offered, some Lte data bundle.
Perhaps your contract hasn't expired yet, jbaber?
I think that must be the case.
I still don't see how they can just unilaterally increase the rate that much without me agreeing to it.

They offered me 10+10 LTE with a router for R299 and said my current one would go up to R299 so i'd rather take the LTE offer. I declined thinking she was mistaken.

Someone mentioned R299 for 20+20?

I'll test later.

Test my Telkom 1GB SmartInternet sim with speedtest on my Huawei tablet (which shows 4G aka LTE). And then put in my Internet Promo 5 sim and see what speedtest gives.

If it does LTE, then we are on the R299 LTE deal, but without contract (yay) or device (meh).

I have been out of contract for about a year odd now... The lady that phoned me said 299 for 20+20 but i think she was mistaken as the website says 399. I was also hammering about all the sh$t ill cause if they just push up my price without consent, think that threw her off guard. I have my sim in a b593 and have LTE.

I would love to go uncapped but there is no uncapped tower in my area... The closest one to me is about 2km and according to the website 45 still available on 599....

Yip I got that same scare tactic months ago(I have also been month to month contract after the original 2yr came to an end) , yet here I am still paying R199/pm for 10+10gb.
Just ignore it, they are using very dubious tactics to try convince people to pay more.

Highly doubt they will change your package or cancel it, to increase your monthly amount/change the contract terms would involve them having to re-sign every single contract. They already have us as a captive market, I can't see them fiddling with the golden goose, which is what we are of sorts.

Jirre hardly a scare tactic. The price has increased. You can stay on your same contract, or upgrade to LTE and het a Huawei B513 LTE router for free. For R299

The package is already LTE. And unless the router can do ADSL and LTE, it is dead to me, DEAD! And who wants to be in a 24 month contract when they can be on month to month?

I was not on LTE, and I have no problem with R299 for 10+10 over 24 months.

When did the price increase and when will they be officially informing us?
