20meg VDSL ... syncs at 20 getting 10 ?

Just popped home during lunch and .... it is back to full line speed.

Getting 18.6Mbps on all local speedtests (SAIX, Voda, MTN).

This is beyond weird.

Afriguy - if it stays like this then I guess we can cancel the fault log.

I'm scratching my head here.

Make sure that you don't have multiple sessions open across the 3 ISPs. Close them all and log in with your primary Afrihost account only.

Why is this a bad thing?

Or just in this case for testing purposes?

Well don't just throw it away, especially if you had important data on there. You probably just fried the protection diodes (TVS diode). If you have some soldering experience, chances are it would work perfectly again if you just replaced that component. If you don't have replacement components, you can bypass the diode... but this will put the drive at risk of complete frying if you connect it up wrongly (or whatever caused it to fail) again due to the lack of protection. Should be good enough to transfer the data to a healthy drive until you can get the diode properly repaired/replaced
