Is there someone that can give me advice in connection with buying a LCD Monitor please. I am looking at a not to expensive 23 to 24" monitor say between R1300 and R1600. What must i look out for and what are decent makes and should i look at monitors with fast response times as i mainly use my pc for gaming?

thanks Keeper but i am not a Samsung fan have had some bad experiences with that brand and would preferably look at another brand if possible

Damn that is a very good price on the Samsung!!! I can get you a Benq G2410HD for R1750.00. PM me if you interested...

Yeah not bad, using one at work and I got my brother in law 1. He seems happy... At R1708-86 including vat pretty good value for money. I use the Sammy at home though and I love it!!!

is there a big difference between a 1 m sec and 5 m sec response time? or is it not anything one should really worry about?
If you were a Cyborg you might notice the difference but I assume you human in which case you probably wont....

it should only be a problem if you are used to seeing the actual bullets in Counter Strike.

You really think you can find a 24" monitor for r1600? Yes there is a big difference. Even 1600 for a 23" is aiming low - then you want to be uptight about the brand? Lol...you may have to set your sights a bit lower buddy.

Christmas is gone now and by this thread I seems you missed the chance. He did not answer your "letter"/request in kind as even him would not be able to do it with your budget and requiremens. Just check the shops. You may find a very good 15"-17" with those specs and prices You want.

To get a rough estimate on what to expect it is better to visit the game/macro/whatever sites/shops and see whats available at that budget and then adjust your scope accordingly and then decide on what you want and ask here for a better price. Asking us to do your homework and then give limits and specs on top of it will generate these kind of response.

Its better if you just ask

"What can I get as Monitor for a measly R1600.00." Then see what boils up!
