Jannie, I just have 1 question for you.

Why are we not allowed to get this on Topup?

Thanks.

Really as simple as a system limitation. The pre-paid billing engine can't manage two different buckets ('normal' + Night Owl) concurrently.

And, yes, heard you all on the promo on Top-Up sans Night Owl. :) Have already passed it on.

But I like Night Owl, always been a fan of using after hours network traffic. I'f I don't sleep, why should you? :)

I need people to chat with on the forum after 12, so expect more of these midnight owls to gather. ;)

Oh my word...now we all know why Vodacom came up with Night Owl....its so Jannie dont get lonely! lolz. Shame man. Jannie...I am only a phone call away hey. Phone me any time! haha

I also wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that the company I work for is screwing the SA public...:p

It is actually nice to have a R400 Topup contract, cos I just buy my 2GB data bundle and know the worst that can happen after my bundle is depleted, is that I'll be losing R11. Cool. I'm happy.

So....I won't go for this contract, cos I can see though this "offer". Vodacom is just waiting for the customer to go over their 2GB limit & then slap them with R1.20 a MB.

Just unethical & dangerous.

It would of been a lot more fun and re-assuring to surf past midnight, if there wasn't this huge bloody hole in the shark net.

Hahaha nice one. These guys are just to sneaky, the sad part is that the average Joe on the street will jump at this deal and get screwed. I was also thinking of getting it because their 3G coverage has increased impressively in my area this past few days, I was shocked when I inserted their sim into my modem today.

This is really testing the good vibes I always had for Vodacom.

Looks just like another Telkom in the making.

At least if it was Broadband Advanced then IB would've been equal to OOB.

Yup.

Vodacom is just waiting for their unsuspecting & loyal customers to fall into the trap, then close the lid. Actually makes me sick.

Poll - 2G+2G R149 Promotion

Quick poll to see how many of you are interested in the 2+2 promo in it's current form.

NOTE: If you are not interested in a Vodacom product, don't bother posting. I want to see what the people who are considering it but potentially stuck in existing contracts make if it.

Having spoken to a couple of 384Mweb uncapped users... I think there may be an interest in a mobile uncapped broadband offering with a capped 384-512Kbps speed for roughly the same price as the ADSL+Telkom tax offers. It may not be possible to implement but it has me thinking that for many this is all they really need... speed is not everything... and price trumps speed...

I am interested, but only if it is top-up - I don't care about the night owl !

I only want it in order to use it in areas where Cell C doesn't work !

Jannie, seeing that this is not for top up.. are there any plans to reduce the cost or increase the bandwidth of the normal month-to-month bundles we subscribe to? They seem sooo outdated...?

Jannie, when will we see that Easter Bunny?

He has already visited the meerkat...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/8464826/Easter-comes-early-for-Meerkats.html ;}

Except what we expect from the bunny is very different to what he actually gives... at least the meerkat likes what's inside the eggs... we won't.

Using teamwork four of the meerkats steadied the biggest egg between them and cracked the shell to reveal a tasty filling of mealworms.

Reduce the price of bundles across the board for everyone, not for just for new 2GB contracts.

+100000. I like the poll result - 0% for the 2GB with 2GB Night Owl with no hard cap @ R149 p/m (lpost paid contract)

Chose option1. Because 2 Gig not enough for me. Gonna use it exclusively for studies, banking and online gaming so I should be able to control my usage. Have a CellC backup for everything else.
Just wish the OOB was way less punishing and at most 50c instead of the R1.20. The network was made faster, so the OOB should be adjusted accordingly, unless you want to give Trevor some more ammo.

Oh and I would be recommending option2 to just about everyone else.

All new lines that gets activated is done with a predefined call limit. This however can be reduced on request of the client.

Vodacom can however not guarentee the line will be locked as soon as the limit is reached. It is a best effort service.
Ockie, this is NOT a service at all. Will Vodacom accept an amendment to the contract that states:
The Customer can however not guarentee the bill will be paid if the limit is exceeded, but will do his best to do so.
So, it then a "best effort" from both parties to the contract.
