2TB Anytime data

I'm not happy with my package :(

When I first acquired this package in April last year, I had really excellent speeds, sometimes approaching the high 90's Mbps. Sadly, in the last 2-3 months, my speeds have become so horrendous that it takes minutes to load a Google search query. My recent speed tests have been anywhere from 0.1 to 0.5 Mbps max. Every time I go to Telkom, they give me the same solution of doing a sim swap, which works for a few hours then speeds drop drastically again.
Try different bands, I went from 10mbps+- to 40+-. It's not quite consistent but I'm still getting good value for money.

have an antenna?
No, I have been researching for the last couple of days. So far, I have found one suggested by a member on another forum here: the Poynting XPOL series. Now they mentioned the XPOL-1 but I have also been seeing the XPOL-2 around. So I'm not sure which one would be better for my applications right now.

I have one of these https://www.takealot.com/poynting-xpol-6-high-gain-11dbi-external-lte-antenna/PLID55962043

About 6 years old works like a bomb

Also your router might not be the best for telkom lte

I see, might have to end up picking it up and see if it makes my connection any better lmao. I also forgot to mention that I live literally about 800 meters from the Telkom tower, and my router is aimed directly at it. My router is the Hauwei B535, not sure if that's an issue or what.

mmm I would get the antenna made a 4x difference to my initial speeds also keeps connection rock solid

Nice. A big issue i have is that everytime I restart my router my connection is usually stable for around a couple of minutes, and then it drops permanantly

maybe see if there is another issue, someone killing it with torrent etc

Maybe your router is messed up? I got better speeds on B535 compared to B315, perhaps it was the settings or the band I was using at the time though.

No its not because I put the sim card in other devices and I was experiencing similar issues :(

Mine has been up and down since stage 4 loadshedding started last year, it got to the point of not having any connection at all during loadshedding, now since stage 6 it has improved for some obscure reason, so I can at least use it albeit at a much reduced speed.

I think it’s because people jump over to fibre or apply for fibre because of the towers going down after loadshedding or not having battery backups

I have also been using it since the start. Rock solid at my place. I took it to Ballito over the holidays and it just worked. I even take it with me to my camping spot by the dam and it works. My tower is at the local Telkom exchange with a "massive" generator. So LS never interrupts my signal. I just wish I could find some more use for all that data.

Yeah still super happy with mine, doesnt even drop now when LS happened used to go off for a min or two now nothing just smooth sailing.

Soo much data left and we stream etc all full HD and use without thinking. Also both work from home...
