Ah, that might be it. Does port forwarding only work on "unrestricted"?
Yep, the normal APN gives you a CGNAT IP instead of a public routable IP, so the unrestricted APN is needed for port forwarding to work.

Are there any risks in running the "unrestricted" APN permanently?
The router does the firewall configuration automatically, so hopefully that's configured correctly. Will test with the Unrestricted APN and see how it goes. I'd be happy with constant NAT 2.If your firewall is misconfigured, then yes, otherwise its the same as having a DSL or fibre connection with a public IP.
One of the disadvantages of the unrestricted APN is that every time you restart your router you randomly get given either a CPT, JHB or DUR IP which can cause increased latency if you are assigned an IP outside of your region.
What kind of speeds you getting ?Had a strange issue on Monday night, I was playing Destiny 2 and my connection just died. Red light on the modem showing no connection. Reboot fixed it and after checking I received the roaming "Your connection has been paused SMS..."
Have disabled roaming on the SIM itself now so will check if it happens again. It was the first time the connection went completely dead due to this.
Only other issue is that our Telkom exhange seems to go down every other Sunday for a couple of hours. Both ADSL and LTE goes down. So far it's happened twice since I got the package last month. Aside from that I'm very happy with the service.
Seems to be in the 50-70 Mbps (mostly 60) down and 7-15 (mostly 8) Mbps up range. Speeds are not nearly as high as other people get, but it's more than enough for my needs at the moment. Our tower seems to max out at 75 Mbps, so it's a tower infrastructure/band limitation. What kind of speeds you getting ?
always dies for 5 min. Just try restarting your routerTelkom LTE and ADSL is completely dead after the loadshedding we had until 18:00. Something must be borked.

It was the first thing I tried. Connection takes a couple of hours to get back up. Just returned to working order after 4 hours. Normally it's up immediately after loadshedding.Mine also dies when the loadshedding hits. Reboot your router. Sometimes I have to turn off the wifi on my phone and turn it back on before it picks up the wifi again.
hope its temporary all my connections but telkom lte die with LSIt was the first thing I tried. Connection takes a couple of hours to get back up. Just returned to working order after 4 hours. Normally it's up immediately after loadshedding.
Internet access paused. Either your data bundle is depleted or you're not in Telkom's coverage and using a Telkom only bundle. Dial *180# or open your browser.
A fancy firewall with good QOS can help a bit, otherwise get fibreHi Guys,
I have been using this deal for about a month now.
What i have noticed is that during a speedtest, the speed maxes out at about 7mbps for a few seconds then starts climbing to around 70mbps.
When my wife is streaming (low quality), my latency on CSGO SA servers is very spikey. Is there any way to sort the issue out? Never had the same issue with any previous LTE solutions that i had.
What router are you using? On a Huawei here and I locked to FDD (1800+2100 with 1800 for upload with the Huawei band tool) to avoid the same winding up you mention, except I did it for upload benefits. It should keep 4G+ permanently active too. Downloads will start at 25mbps and progress upward from there as aggregation does its thing.Hi Guys,
