Hi all, i would like to connect 2 explora`s and still be able to watch and record on both does anyone know if there is possible? if so could you please help, my current setup is 1X explora and a Dsd1131 with heart beat cable. and paying for extra view.

Thank`s a million guys

Yes it is. 1 cable from the multiswitch to each explorer and heartbeat cable between them.

Yes, I have two Exploras in Xtraview config.

The only challenge is getting HDMI to all the TVs. Basically, you have to decide which decoder each TV will use, and run HDMI there.

Yes. I have 2 Exploras in an Xtra-View configuration. They are both connected to a 4x4 Matrix Switch like this and then distributed to 4 separate rooms. Each room is able to switch between any of the 2 Exploras. The Matrix is able to distribute the signal over Cat-5 (network) cables and then back to HDMI in each room.

Please help me with conneting my explora to another explora with xtra view using dstv multi switch. As soon as I add the unicap cable to point B on switch the both decor loses signal strength

Hi Andriekie, I actually got an installation company to do all the cabling for me. I bought the matrix switch referenced in my previous post from Ellies. They directed me to an installer (I no longer have their details unfortunately, this was a few years ago). I'm not a techie myself, but it goes something like this:

- the Exploras are connected to the Matrix switch in the lounge via normal HDMI cables
- the Matrix distributes the Explora signals via normal network / ethernet cables to where-ever you want
- at the end of the ethernet cable is a little switch (it comes as part of the matrix kit), which converts it back to HDMI, which is then connected to the TVs in the remote locations
- there's a remote switch in each room, which allows you to switch the source from say Explora 1 to Explora 2
- if you want to. you can add other HDMI enabled devices (up to 4) to the Matrix in the lounge and distribute it in the same way e.g. Blu-Ray Player, Apple TV etc
