3-D TVs all the rage

A breathtaking wave of 3-D televisions has hit the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where the technology is being touted as the next big thing in home theater.

I cannot appreciate the buzz of it because I have not seen any three-D movies. Maybe once I've done this I'll look forward to a nice comedy (in high def nogaal). But any who, I'm happy with the developments. Hope they'll be GA in 2011 or 12.

I wonder howcome the porn industry hasn't jumped on the bandwagon yet. They always seem to be the one's spear-heading the latest technologies.

Yeah I agree 3D pron will pwn! :erm:

:D

Another reason to buy a new TV. I held off buying an HDTV until recently and now I have to buy a 3D tv! Not fair.

What's next? 3D PSP?

I cant be arsed to sit at home with goggles to watch tv.

I have watched a few movies in 3D as well as 2D and have to say the only 1's that looked better in 3D than 2D were Avatar and Alice in Wonderland. The rest were not so good to put it lightly.

Do you have to wear those glasses?

Saw a weekly program on NDTV concerning this, this last weekend.
The newest generation 3-D TV's come with very light, almost non-invasive glasses (much like wearing prescription ones / sunglasses).

So u get 3d and u need glasses and content for you and all your friends!

Hopefully they release contact lenses in the near future so we don't have to look stupid with the glasses;)

My 10 year old son came up with a good concept... he said, "Dad one day soon they will implant chips into our brains that will make all movies and TV 3D!!!" :)
