If this thing hits, all of us would be affected by it. Pretty soon the middle class would be doing hand labour, like digging graves.Thousands and thousands of them. My feeling is that the upper class might even cease to exist.

to those lauding the flu for its great performance in population control, I got one question for you. I am gonna be blunt; if you such great fans of population control through epidemics, are you gonna volunteer yourselves and your next-of-kin for for the good of human kind??
I agree with Mezu, what makes you think mother nature wants you in the gene pool. On a side note to the Aids / Flu which is worse etc.. You don't die from Aids it strips your bodies immune system and you die from complications of other diseases like Flu. So if swine flu is classed as an epidemic then it would be decimating to the people living with full blown Aids and as such compassion should be shown because it is not a disease that only belongs to gay people and junkies etc... It effects alot of people who through no fault of their own might have contracted the HIV strain.

There is no way that our already stretched medical facilities and medical staff can cope with this. You might find that the shops might soon run dry from fresh produce and the filling station might not have fuel as both the fuel truck drivers and the guy filling your car might either be ill or dead. This flu virus is being taken seriously by the world health organisation. In developed countries it might not have the same impact that it will have here. Should the virus mutate, and there is serious concern that it might already have done so, we should all be very concerned. By the time a vaccine is on the market, they might have to fight a totally different virus.
The other problem is also that there are indications that it mutated into a more virulent strain. Should this be the case, we all are in for a bumpy ride.
That includes the rich and the middle class. Children, sick and older people are more susceptible to the virus. I would like to hear from you again within the next two weeks.

You do not technically die from AIDS but the reason you died was AIDS destroyed your immune system so in fact aids killed you.

Splitting genital hairs again. I read of a number of H1N1 deaths in the UK. Those other stats were only for USA. And yet millions will fret, yet again, over the death of Michael Jackson tonight who was a normal human bean (sic) whose **** looked the same as a person's who died coz of Aids of swine flu.

In other news 100s of people went down with flu today, yesterday, the day before........

The Gauverment doesn't care... less houses to build... less promises to fulfill... face it
Fair... but the majority of those with Aids asked for it through screwing around... (and I feel sorry for them.. a cousin died from it)
Those with the swine flu get it through the air (coughing in close proximity) or by the slightest of contacts... and you will die faster with swine flu than aids
You can't ignore it... prevention has always been better than the cure
I people are so worried about aids... then stop screwing around... and If you care so much... petition the ANC to pull their fingers outta their @sses
I would hate to see this hit the squatter camps... if its not so bad already for them... it will be ghastly when/if swine flu gets to them

I myself thought all the hype and flu was over after our "first case"... but hey... its worse 3 weeks later... ignore it again without looking out for yourselves...

Don't know where you getting your facts from? If the health system is not prepared I think swine flue is going to hit the third world countries much much harder. Definitely not "overdramatised".
