350z vs honda s2000 vs

s2000 is a top car!!! I've had honda's for years now and they are indestructible (subjective ofcource!) ! if you only know half the punishment I put mine tru! but-- you going tohave to ask your self a few questions..
1. are u going to take advantage of its track pedigree? if not, then its a major con.. and not a pro in ur buying decision.
2. as a daily driver, you should be considering something with some low down grunt.. dont get me wrong s2k has oomph! but at lower revs you may as well be driving a normal 1600....this is where a bigger motor/turbo car would come into play.
3. what exactly are you looking for?

s2000 is one of the best roadsters ever! the 350z for me hits the spot as well! the thing with JAP cars, as noted here also, is that the OEM parts are expensive, but the aftermarket stuff you can import are sometimes cheaper and alot more capable! for example a honda OEM clutch could cost you R5k..but an ACT stage 1 clutch would be like R3k.. and its rated alot better than the OEM one!

another one to consider, and i know alot of people think these are fairy cars.. but i likes me a z4! the 2.5i got a mean growl! and looks the part as well!

so yes.. alot of options out there man!

PS since when does it kick them in the nuts

Ford Focus ST 0-60 6.7 sec

Pretty much on Par with both these cars, so not only does it look like a foot, its not faster :P

No way a 2L Vtec will ever come close to running with a ST on any given day of the week. 2.5L Turbo slower than a 2L Honda engine? Seriously? :D
 
still think it looks like a foot ;) speed isnt THAT important to me. Othewise i'd get a 200sx s13 and do an rb25 conversion. Friend did that- horribly fast

At the coast, unmodified, the ST stands no chance, its at least a second behind on 400m.

Also must say not sure how they fall into the same pricing category - only 2.5L Turbos I have seen are 220k+
 
ACT stage 1 clutch for B, H, K, F series honda's are R3k.
for mazda (rx8), and nizmo (350z, 370z) its R3500.
as me - i know.
just put a ACT stage 1 + prolight flywheel on my K series honda for under R5k!

btw... plenty 2L honda's eating up focus ST's... but you on the right track man: up at the reef: boost is king!

The ST will not cane the s2000 at the coast. In fact, my money would prob be on the s2000. The focus is an awesome car, and has excellent modification potential, but standard it was a fair amount slower than it should have been.

I have seen ST's for less than 200k, but i wouldnt go near them. Most ST drivers are a bunch of yobs who love nothing more than abusing their cars

ACT XACT Flywheel Prolite $502.65, (3518.55)

Already at 8901.55 excluding shipping, excluding customs and vat of around 20%.

Granted, you can get the same kit slightly cheaper than from ACT - but not muc, even half of that is going to be over R5k... no where near 3k.

You can get ****ty clutch kits for S2000 at around R3,000 (excl flywheel)- but I won't touch them.

No issues, but I do think there will be a noticeable difference if he drives both. I have a 350Z but haven't driven a s2000. So I may be a bit biased :)

350z max torque 350nm@4800rpm
s2000 max torque 208nm@7500rpm

But the S2000 looks better :)

... I've driven both, although the 350Z is quicker in a straight line, it doesn't feel it - probably because its heavier, and the S2000 engine screams :p
