Hi All
Not sure if this is the correct place to post HELP questions, but here it goes. I’m having trouble with my K3765 modem. The thing is the first time you connect it it works like a charm, but once removed and I try using it again it doesn’t. It seem like each time it is trying to install the Modem drivers again and it just doesn’t succeed. It just keeps spinning and installing the modem but with no end. When this happens I can’t even shutdown my laptop, it just hangs at the shutting down screen.
The only way I can get this to work again is to Restore to the restore point created when the Vodacom Mobile Connect Lite software was installed. I don’t think this is related to the modem model as my previous modem did exactly the same.
In short first time install it works and then after it just tries to install the modem again and doesn’t complete and therefor no modem is installed.
I have gone as far as to reload my laptop, downloaded updated drivers and software all to no avail.
Laptop: Dell Latitude E6510
OS: Win 7 Prof SP1
Vodacom Mobile Connect Lite software: 9.4.4.17702
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

I’m not sure if it’s the same problem with windows 7 but I’ve solved this problem for many windows XP clients. With XP the problem in most cases is .net. Uninstall .net and reinstall it with the version on the stick. (Done automatically when reinstalling drivers from the stick.)

Read this first:

Uninstall .net from Add/Remove Programs. If it fails use the tool found here:

If this solves your problem then you need to turn off (windows) automatic update. (the root of all problems)

Try downloading here: http://help.vodacom.co.za/portal/en...re_downloads&type=Broadband&softdown=Software

Don't worry that it's 88MB as it is a zero cost download provided you're connected via Vodacom.

This should fix your problem as it did mine!

I'd recommend uninstalling VMC Lite via Windows 7 Control Panel with the modem removed and only reinsert the modem when requested by the full version of Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) V10.1.108.29105...
