3G on Virgin - SOON!!!

The speed I get on my Virgin Sim card are the same as the speeds I get from Vodacom. My modem flashes blue for 3G/HSDPA when I insert my Virgin Sim.

both my brothers are on Virgin Mobile and their phones have been switching between 3G and 3.5G this weekend.
when i switch 3G on on my iphone it searches and actually finds a network now but i haven't seen the 3G symbol yet, its always on EGDE

Sorry guys...dont mean to invade your Virgin section...but was reading this out of curiosity. I dont understand why you guys are so excited about 60c/meg? That works out to R600.00 per GIG!!!! Vodacom, if you activate the 1Gig bundle, it works out to R289.00 or 28c/meg....and vodacom have now increased the bundle sizes so now you get 1.2gigs for the same price!!! And this is on the 3G/HSDPA network. Virgin only has EDGE.

Am I missing something? You guys know something I dont? I am really just curious.

+1 No wonder they have such a small share of the market.

Virgin mobile was CellC's way of getting in its vip customers. The plan didnt go well. Now Redbull is in.

Thou 60c a mb for mobile usage is not bad,it was 50c

I'm getting 3G now at work in Midrand.

re. the 60c/meg - since Virgin doesn't have any data bundles yet, that is the 'out of bundle' rate. So compared to every-one else's oob rates @ R2/meg, it's the cheapest oob.
