384k - 640k at the same download speed - why?

Upload speeds are supposed to be 512 or higher after the upgrade on all 4mbps lines. It just makes it easier should you need to upload things faster.

Does this mean, that all 4 mbps lines previously had only 384 kbps upload?

640 kbps upload is a nice progress. It's the technical maximum of ADSL1. (max. download speed = 8 mbps)

The maximum available upload speed on ADSL1 in Germany is only at 576 kbps. (download 6016 kbps)

Now you can also hope for more download speed.
8 mbps soon? There were rumors already.

Just checked mine - 512.

Last I checked I was on 640. That was before the upgrade so who knows if they didn't downgrade me to 512.
