400D whats it worth?

Hey guys, just a quick question.
My wife is looking at buying a 400D second hand from a friend and wants to know how much to offer?
Its got the standard kit lense only.
Done about 5000 shutter actions.
Anyone have any ideas?

I was hoping to sell my Nikon D50, including a 18-55mm and a 70-300mm lens with less than 500 shutters (brand new shutter, waiting for it to be replaced at Nikon) for around R3,000, so if the 400D is newer (but single lens and more shutters) I would say anything from R2,500 to R3,500. More than R4,000 I would think is too much.

Just my 2c.

yeah its a cool camera, it came out just before Canon put "live-view" into their SLR's and destroyed them by making them stoop down to the level of point-n-shoots. [/moan]

Your D50's got 500 shutters?? I've got a D80 and it's only got 1 shutter
