4K streaming in testing for DStv Now

picture looks stunning, framerate right up there, this is better than the satellite feed on my explora

I wish I could see it on a big 4K TV but even on my S8 it looks awesome.

Edit: Just watched the normal HD stream and it looks like crap in comparison, especially the framerate, the test stream is like butter but the normal stream judders.

I only get a black screen (with audio, though) on the test stream. I have a 4k TV and 200meg fibre. Is there anything else I should do to see it? This is during the France v Belgium semi-final.
 
Update: managed to get it working on the Edge browser. Blank screen only in Chrome and IE (*spit*) :)

What are you using to play the stream?
 
Wasn't seeing the channel on my Xiaomi mi Box but saw there was an update for the app and updated. Now watching the world cup on my 4k TV. Don't now if it is 4k but the 3 of us watching the stream are definitely impressed by the vast improvement in quality vs the normal HD channel.

Watching on Coolideas 50Mb fibre over wifi and the stream is flawless and haven't skipped a beat in the last 10 minutes.

what TV do you have?
 
No streaming issues for me on DSTV now TBF.
 
Is the channel only available on the Premium package?

Edge doesn't work for me at all. Catchup just go back to the CU screen , Live TV gives "Page has a problem loading" . Neither has a problem on Chrome. Not sure if it has something to do with max devices allowed on Dstv Now... might be

/update - not have the Edge issue on my desktp pc .. only on my laptop :( Have an older version on laptop, getting its updates via company rollouts. Obviously Edge not high on their priority list ..


/update : found this to "enable" 4K in Edge .. fine in Youtube now, still can't play anything from DStv Now

"Write about:flags on the address line and find "Enable VP9 video format" and set it to always on. Restart browser"

So the people having problems with buffering on DSTV Now, what ISP are you using?
And the ones that has smooth playback , which ISP?
 
ah i was using firefox, will try edge. netflix only plays in 4k on edge

Buffer = true
ISP = VOX
10 meg line ADSL.
