4K streaming in testing for DStv Now

So the people having problems with buffering on DSTV Now, what ISP are you using?
And the ones that has smooth playback , which ISP?

Showmax is fine for me. Starts out low and goes up quick to 1080p on my 10mb adsl line.

DStv now is ****. Streams fine with the quality going up and down all the time but it's watchable at least. My issues are with trying to download / watch catchup. Downloads never complete and stops all the time saying there's an error, this is on all my devices. Watching catchup, it stops half way through then we have to start up the episode again and fast forward to where it stopped.

4k streaming will probably work if you have a 50mb plus connection, but the app is still broken and the codex used are bad...

I am using Vodacom Business Fiber (10mb). No buffering at all on DSTV Now.

Do they have 5.1 and Subtitles yet on Showmax?

They're only a few years late to the party but at least they've finally pitched up. The problem with that is by the time they've sorted out 4K streaming, the world will have moved on.

Are you running a VPN perhaps? Switching mine off solved the problem.

No nothing just a normal adsl connection via wifi

I work in the USA for half the year! So I was quite excited to get Dstv Now.

When I tried it over here, I got a message saying that Dstv Now only works in countries that have Dstv coverage in the first place. I.e. only in Africa!?

Hi I have a question someone can maybe clarify for me...

I run a MyGica atv495Max 4k android tv box connected to my Hisense 55" 4K TV via a UHD/4k HDMI v2.0 cable.

I also have 10Mb Fiber uncaped with Telkom... I can stream DSTV now, netflix and showmax without buffering. Now some netflix shows stream in 4k with super good quality but my PROBLEM is Supersport HD, Mnet HD, Discovery HD on dstv now these channels are not even close to HD quality with streaming options set to 1080p....

There must be something wrong as my friend runs dstv now on his samsung smart tv browser and his SS HD channels are HD for sure very crisp quality!

PS. I run netflix straight from my TV... I have tried diffent Android tv boxes and on the laptop still cant get HD on DSTV Now!!!
