Not quite. It is the choice at the moment but the shortlist has grown to include the Freelander 2, Q5, Grand Cherokee and the Hyundai...

Yeah, I'm busy comparing using combined consumption. That spec would help me make a decision.

I must say, the more I look at the Jeep the more it looks like a great option. I am just a little concerned about the fuel efficiency in that V6 beast...

EDIT: found it. 11,4l combined consumption. Hell's bells, that's pretty ridiculous...

Yeah, that is on the PDF I posted too. Remember, I'm recommending the Diesel, which is over budget :)

nah teh Germans are fine..just sell before extended motorplan dies...its the electrical faults & turbos that hit you. Selling cover 1st, extended MP covers second.

Also...dont by MP immediately...if you total it then you lose it. Buy later.

I missed it on the pdf. Not surprised they hid it.

I see there are a few 3.0 CRDs available with a few kms on the clock at a decent price. I'm struggling to find the combined figures for it though. Any chance you're able to dig that up for me if you don't mind...? :p

The off-roading happens twice a year, so I'd prefer something capable but decent looking and not as hellishly expensive as the Prado. I think the thing is hideous looking though...

8.3l/100km I mentioned is combined (manufacturer claim and same as Hyundai)... real world should be around 10l/100km for both...

Going from a D3 to a SantaFe is a major downgrade - I will bet money that you will hate every minute of it.

Air suspension issues are easily fixed on the D3, as long as you stay away from the stealers. Get it fixed by a reputable indie and your D3 will last forever.

Going from a D3 to anything but a RRS/RR is a downgrade. Sadly, even a Defender is a downgrade.
