If you are going to consider the Q5, then you must drive the 3L TDI - 180 KW, unbelievable speed and plenty luxury and superb road handling. In fact test drive it anyway whether you are considering it or not, its worth it.
The 2L is just not strong enough.

That SRT is nothing more than a tarmac petrol guzzling plow, horrible 4x4 capable machine, my brother have one with even larger rims and snow-going tires and added chrome (bling). Also need to be partly gangster owning that vehicle. The day I have money, I will buy a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Go Google the G-Wagon LAPV 6.
 
I can tell you one thing for sure, Jeep make the most comfortable seats ever... Even in the lower models like the Patriot. Ride is much nicer in a Jeep! My Sportage feels way to hard and bouncy in comparison to the wifes Patriot. If I had the budget, Jeep GC Diesel would be my choice vehicle for sure, stunning looks and quality interior.

Jeep Wrangler Sahara with all the bells and whistles.

Was surprised how luxurious the interior has become and it means more adventures. Screw lane alert and rear view cameras. The novelty wears off very quickly...
 
I've always liked the Wrangler. Wanted to get one last time around but the missus shot that idea down hard and fast. :o

The ride up front is surprisingly good on the road. From the back seats it is harsh and the seats very uncomfortable. Definitely not a family car in any way. But it is impressive in every other department.

Got the 3.6L V6 petrol and it performs really well...
