702's McKaiser 'demonstrated intolerance', BCCSA

I was young when the NP and DP was around.
Even at such a young age I knew President de Klerk should not be quoted out of context.

He has a very unique mannerism and method of getting his point across.
Politics aside, he's a very intelligent man.

WTF kind of name is Mckaiser? Irish German?
Maybe...maybe! Maybe he's of Xhosa descend. Some Nguni naming customs allowed for name of the father to be used as a surname by his kids. Maybe this is the case with him but along the way, someone just added the Mc for aesthetics. Lol.

Or it was some Irish/Scottish surname a government clerk couldn't spell correctly so he/she just recorded it as McKaiser.

Something like...
Clerk: "Name?"
Man: "Kavanagh"
Clerk: "How do you spell that?"
Man: "C-a-o-m-h-"
Clerk: "Don't eff with me... Your name is Simon from now on, you hear me? Surname?"
....
Man: "Mac a' Ghreusaiche..."
Clerk: "(exasperated) You're Simon McKaiser from now on. Neeext!"

Do not listen to the drivel? Didn't even know 702 still existed.

At one point in my life I listened to 702, and then I started to notice how left leaning everyone was; specifically Grootes and McKaiser. It became less about debate and more about pushing their agenda. I suspect they are so left leaning their right legs have grown in length.

I see Mr McKaiser is leaving 702 at the end of June... I'm going to miss him heaps! I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but I really enjoyed him! Being replaced by Clement Manyathela, who, let's be honest, isn't in the same class academically.

Anyway, apologies for the thread necro but the other thread had long since been locked....

Yeah was pretty surprised by this news. Generally enjoyed his approach, although sometimes he did get a little aggressive, but that’s what set him apart, he loved pushing just that bit more

Wonder where he is going.

Clement Manyathela is about 30/31 yeah? Think it will be good having someone younger run this, he will grow, huge opportunity for him here.

Joanne Joseph remains my favourite at 702 though.

He addressed his departure first thing this morning. Got a very lucrative offer elsewhere! He's restless and ready to move. His year on year listener figures are consistently up and Prime Media are sad to see him go... so no, sorry right wingers, he hasn't been fired....

I find Clement some what underwhelming TBH but I'll give him a chance. Massive opportunity for sure! Let's hope he swims!

I enjoy Azania, don't listen all that often but enjoy her bubbly disposition and the usually light hearted nature of her shows. 702 can really get dark and depressing when the focus is a consistently on the bad news, of which there is never a shortage...

I always thought that Eusebius was very successful at getting rid of white listeners, and thereby turning 702 into a black listener only radio station.

Isn't that why 702 appointed him ?

So why did they let him go ?

Haha! Love it well deserved Eusebius!

Completely agreed, Azania really is like a breath of fresh air, she balances it all out very well.

Well he'll go down as the first "entertainer" in history to not have a face for TV. Or radio. Essentially cancelling himself out.
