I'm looking to setup my own RocketChat server and because of latency, I wanted a VPS in ZA.

As i've used Host1Plus before, I decided to look for some coupon codes and make use of them again. The best coupon I can find is 75% off, so should you end up deciding to use this code, then please show me some love by signing up via my referral link.

PROMO CODE: VPSZA75
REFERRAL URL: https://affiliates.host1plus.com/ref/jeromeza.html

Thanks!

Nice I used your link to sign up, hope it worked :) It's a steal, $15 for a whole year!

Ive had a ZA host1plus vps for about 8 months now. It works well but i can't seem to get more than about 10-15Mbps using it as a openVPN server. Anyone tried their vps's hosted elsewhere?

Weird mine hits 50Mbps, sometimes more.

I'm a bit lost at the moment, I'm trying to get CentOS installed using centos-7-x86_64. Then I run the following commands to install the core and base packages.

yum -y update
yum -y groupinstall core
yum -y groupinstall base

After I installed these and I restart it loses all adapters and I can't ssh into the box via it's public IP any longer. I can still use the emergency SSH but I'm not sure what config settings are being changed to fix it.

Have any of you been able to use the promo code with a second VPS? Or is it limited to once per account?

Thanks

I haven't had a chance to redo my openVPN install yet but i ran a few speedtests from the server for those interested.

Hmm so just now after a restart the vps lost internet connectivity again. This is what ifconfig shows and it looks like it's not bringing up the external link.

Any ideas?

CentOS 7 blows when it comes to virtual environments. I used to love CentOS but 7 is a no-go on cloud/VPS so I switched to Debian, much better and have most stuff out-of-the-box unlike CentOS
