is this a bit much for a peak on my 9600gt?
anyone know of any good cooling things for a 9600gt that doesnt take up a whole case? (have a small case and not a lot of room for big things anymore)

Its rather hot but not all that unheard of.
I had a 6600Gt that frequently went over 110c everyday for a year just fine and its still working today

atm i have 1 in the front taking in, 1 in the side taking in and 1 in the back taking out. hav another fan lying around which im gna put in the side also (above the one taking in) and have it take out.

That DOES seem unusually hot. Stock cooling?

ya... stock. pretty bad stock cooler. though it was only at 80 for a second, average was 73, but thats still too warm for my liking, especially seeing as i was only running stalker.

good better cooling for your case

you can turn your fan up to 1000% if your sucking in hot air aint goin to help

73 is still hot, I have a 8800gt and runs @ 47c. I only have one side and one back fan. it's a dual slot cooler thought.

Nope.

Also only have a heatsink fan and one 80mm case fan, which are both just about silent.

Sometimes a motherboard bios needs updating to report correct temps.

My motherboard used to report alarming temps yet ran cool, after updating the bios all was good.
