8600gt ... 8600gts?

Ive seen alot of ppl own a 8600GT,so what im wondering is,what the difference between my 8600GTS and the 8600GT? I would look it up myself,But alas ive been capped :D sooooo is it the same thing or is one different than the other?:confused:

As far as I know the 8600GTS has higher core, shader and memory clocks than the 8600GT :)

Well mine standard... Core:675mhz Memory:1008Mhz

Overclocked it once to about 729Mhz and 1038Mhz ... I think ,i cant remember since that was before summer, in summer time i dont want to overclock,gets blazing hot here,and cooling can only do so much.

at the time i bought mine,the 9600gt wasn't out,got it 4 R1950,dont know what they went for but i got that price after hopping between 2 of my friends who both own a pc sales operation,till i got that price

9600GT will be one of those cards which everone raves about for a month or two.. and then it burns and dies horribly...

just my opionion lol

Hmmm, probably true. But once the 9600GT's price drops a bit it's price/performance margin should be higher :D

It's never going to be that amazing with 64SP units. :(

The 8800GT is definitely this generations 6600GT.

btw the OP wasn't buying a card, just asking a random question.

I remember when I bought my 8800GTS, the difference in prices between the 2 cards in question were like, R150.

Then I decided to go big and got the 8800GTS.

Mwah to my beautiful card ;)
