8800GT pricing...

it could not even beat the gts in some tests as well

ati's top card could not beat nvidia mid range in some tests, sad

no the 8600's are low range, how nvidia could release those cards saying they good for dx 10 is total BS

the 8600's is no range ;)

geez 1.7k i'll buy one :)

seriously doubt this card will be less than 2.5k inc vat from suppliers

you know what must suck the guys who paid 2k for the 8600gts :)

apparently the sparkle one is on par with the GTX's with their +75hz (675 in total as apposed to xfx's 650) to the speed

/sigh suppose rectron, corex, bethesda or wavestone would list it on monday....

MSRP is supposed to be $249 some people are taking advantage of the hype and charging far more than they should....

If you're paying R3K you're getting ripped off major for a $249 part. The 320MB 8800GTS was $349 and many sold for R3.1K some R2,800 locally. So ask yourself why MSRP has gone down but you're paying more :/
R3K defeats the whole purpose of the card...

And i see quite a few places listing them a R3K here already! I hope this doesn't continue as we have a nack for keeping prices high even when overseas prices drop.

shock g 3k for this gpu would not defeat anything man

if consider this outperforms the gts which was 3k

but yeah if i could pick it up for 1.7k ex vat

im sure someone would buy my 8800gts 1.5k :) add 600 bucks and i get a new card muhahahahahahaha

It was released with lousy drivers and now that the drivers are constantly improving it is beating both the gts's and at least matching the gtx

o well still waiting for the wholesalers to add it to pricelists guess thats only on monday....

Hey soz to change the topic a lil :) but does the brand matter with this card? like how would the brand zotac compare to that of XFX and Asus? or is it all the same card with a different sticker? :p

Well they basically all manufactured according to the reference design nvidia sends out however they differ in warranty and sometimes cooling.. I could be wrong though.

At the moment I'd go with whichever brand is cheapest with the first 8800GT's. Zotac were one of the manufacturing partners so they had the last few boards, what's the price on them?

See how the clocks and board designs change later, then brands might be worth looking at.

As stated in another thread, yesterday, i bought the 8800gt from prophecy. Now have to wait for the 15th....aaaaarrrrggghhhh hate waiting!!!

lol, the 8800GTS's are flooding the 2nd hand market, at prices matching the GT and just a bit less....maybe they'll catch some unsuspecting buyers
