8800GT pricing...

As stated in another thread, yesterday, i bought the 8800gt from prophecy. Now have to wait for the 15th....aaaaarrrrggghhhh hate waiting!!!

...and if you are lucky it won't be delayed by customs, i hope it comes on the 15th (also ordered)

This is a silly question but i see most of them are mentioning pcie 2.0, whats the deal with that? am i going to have to upgrade my board to get one of these?

The deal with PCI-E 2 is just more power to the card through the PCI-E slot, so eg. the 8800GT doesnt need external power. And a few other features, technical stuff.

Im plannign on upping my whole pc spec soon, but i want the new card first :D
the card should still take an external point tho, right?

looking at the prices looks like wholesale + vat == ±R1800/R1900

the wait for rectron-alike to get stock...

axiz sell for 2.1k ex vat basically 2.4k so 2.6k aint that bad from resellers

rectron having this card is under 2.3k is a joke

not on vga cards, axiz are one of cheapest xfx suppliers in the country

rectron is way more expensive than axiz

i see so they are the whole sale dudes of xfx's

Ja, and +/-R2600 sounds fine to me. Not waiting for the Rectron Gigabyte cards at R2800+ :(

It does mean that those Prophecy cards are definitely a good deal.

i'll laff if rectron is round R1900 with vat ;)

o well wait an see what they price them at, but i think i want a sparkle 675mhz one to 600 or 650

necuno i've been in the comp business since i left school +- 8 years ago

i have never seen rectorn have good vga pricing

if anything sahara is the cheapest vga card seller at the moment

8800gtx are 4.7k ex vat

if anybody will have the card for under 2k it will be sahara

I will say this...they do have VERY good prices on a lot of their products. Makes rectum look rather bad if you really compare some of the stuff.

pci-e 2.0 is more power but 8800gt still needs 6-pin
I'm running on a PCI-E 2.0 motherboard with the 8800GT and you most certainly need the power connector.

Great card this really, its running faster than 8800 Ultra in 3DM05 :P it is just that one benchmark but still, it's faster :D
