I got 450W power supply with 2x hard-drives 1xcd-rom and one 5600+ Am2 processor and 2x7600gs and everything is running fine. am looking to replace the 7600gs sli with 1 8800GT Will I need a bigger power supply?

Nvidia specifies a 500watt minimum, althought your rig should run fine.
I got a Watercooling system, 4 Hard Drives, 1 Optical Drive, Core 2 Duo 2gHz OC'd 3.2gHz, DQ6 Board, 8800GT on a 500watt power supply (Including fans etc)

DQ6 Requires pulls in extra power with another molex conncetor lol

So you should be fine.

You ought to be fine :) Running mine on a 500W PSU with a lot more components without any problems :)

My first question is usually what Make and Model is it, because I learnt my lesson with my last power supply a few years back. A 500W standard 'cheepo' PSU doesn't hold a candle to a 380W dedicated voltage PSU. Another good thing about quality PSUs are the long warranty periods they have i.e. the warranty on one of my 2 Antec PSUs is 5 years

I am currently running 2 6600gts in sli with 5hdds on a 450watt asus psu. Have had no troubles. There are quite a few power supply calculators online. Do a search on google http://www.google.com/search?q=powe...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
pick one that works the best for you. There are a lot more than there was 2 years back.

I am now also looking to upgrade to an 8800gt, and will be selling off my pair of 256mb 6600gts if anyone is interested.

Regards,

Steed.
