So I am using a combination of 8ta and Afrihost for internet, signal in my area isn't the best with most of the networks although MTN and 8ta work(ed) rather well.
I get 3 bars with 8ta and have been using them for over a year now and have been very happy until recently.
It seems as if just about every night from around 8PM onwards I get some really bad packet loss / ping spikes - for most of December I was using Afrihost / MTN and then when I switched back to 8ta due to me being capped on MTN I suddenly experienced this issue.
I play a lot of League of Legends and my connection with 8ta has always been more stable and yielded a lower ping (around 230ms) where with MTN I get around 270 / 280ms.
Now after 8PM or so my ping will randomly spike all the way up to 6500ms and jump around for a few minutes and then go back down for a few minutes and back up etc.
REALLY frustrating, I understand that it is wireless and there are soo many different factors which can effect it although I have never experienced this before and have been monitoring it for the past few weeks to make sure that there isn't something I am missing which may be causing this - couldn't find or notice anything.
So basically, is there anyone else here who is experiencing the same issue as I am?
I have a friend who stays on a plot, who also has 3 bars of 8ta signal and who never lags in League of Legends - so I am thinking perhaps its my tower which becomes over congested at night?
I had an 8ta technician out and they were unsure and just did a sim swap as my sim was a bit scratched from when I use to change between devices a lot (no longer happens and it didn't make a difference).
