8ta clarifies BlackBerry data usage confusion

Very cool of 8ta to provide feedback so late at night and clear up the confusion. Also cool that there is no shaping on their network :D

I am seriously considering porting to them.

Just waiting for them to launch their Samsung Galaxy S2 deals.

I feel what I posted in the Vodacom/BB 100MB thread should be reposted here:
I was wondering about this too, hence my request for a clear statement from Vodacom.

What a PR disaster they have created for themselves - Epic Fail
Cell-C and 8ta must love the Execs at Vodacom, they keep handing out opportunities on a silver platter!

I have to say that Cell-C and 8ta owe Vodacom a big thank you!
Oh and they seem to have Execs that can quickly make use of the opportunities handed to them!

Cell-C and 8ta FTW! :D

It is this kind of service and that will make me want to stay/join a network. Thank you for the late night update

So they won't shape or limit your usage. Just throttle then? Like Vodacom?

Seriously, how much data can you use on narrowband services like BIS? With such limited hardware I don't see why networks needs to limit traffic.

Apparently some users were using as much as 100GB a month

How on earth do you do that kind of data on such a simple device? I do 500GB a month on my PC if I try hard enough.

Telkom wipes the floor with Vodacom .. oh how the mighty has fallen.

I know someone who uses 2 blackberries. One is purely used for downloading stuff but he says he uses about 20GB/month. 100GB is crazy.

Well Vodascum, this is only the beginning.

You will regret abusing the power of the consumer.

You will come running to us, someday but it will be to late.

Not impossible with a playbook. Then again, one has to keep downloading 24/7 to reach 300gigs on devices other than PCs.

Damn, I'm already on EDGE 2 days after purchasing my BB bundle on prepaid. Have I already used up 100MB and I'm being throttled?
