8ta LTE Not conneting to ABSA Internet banking

Same issue here. Seems to be ONLY on LTE network. I referred the issue to Telkom Mobile technical department. No response yet. Anyone figured this out?

Think Absa might have troubles with their servers...i used LTE to do a payment earlier this morning & that worked fine.....now it won't even log me in...times out

I had the same issue on another website, you would be able to visit the site for like 5 seconds, times out immediately[Glad it got resolved after sending a support ticket]. I doubt it would be a server troubles on their side - they are a banking institution..

Okay - today they had a problem with the site, just after that last post of mine it went into maintenance mode for a while & become workable 30-40mins later.
Can't say i've had any trouble using lte with their site previously....using a stick modem tho

I also cannot connect to ABSA internet banking on 8ta 3g. I have tried a huawei b683 modem, huawei E5331 3g mifi. I can access ABSA through cable ADSL so the site is not down. I have also cleared caches, tried different browsers. I have even tried different operating systems. I use Ubuntu Linux but have tried Android, Ios7 and even Microsoft operating systems. No luck.

Please make a note of your IP address when you cannot connect.

You should report it to both.
I have dealt with absa ib and telkom mobile before. Believe me, it is much easier to change the sim in the router when I want to do absa internet banking. A better option may be to change banks. The others all work with all my sims. I am not very happy with absa in any case.

I use Telkom mobile on Lte spectrum with a b593 modem. When I started I had the same problem of not being able to log onto absa. After having changed the firewall settings on my B593 the problem was solved.

After a technical consulant at Absa told me to load the Absa app onto my wp8.1 from istore I finaly migrated to FNB. In the end it was worth the hassel.

ABSA -8ta - resolved, sort of.

Good day all,

Sine day one of installing the Huawei LTE B593 router/modem, we are unable to connect to ib.absa.o.za. All other websites connect just fine, even going to www.absa.o.za it loads quickly and correctly. As soon as we link on login, a new page loads and after a minute it says page cannot be found. Anyone else having the same issues.

I first contacted Telkom and after being forwarded to 7 departments I was told that ofcourse it is not their fault but ABSA's. I then contacted ABSA and was told that their website is compatible with 8ta. (Whatever that may mean)

Please assist!
KEYWORDS: ABSA LTE 8ta 100GB R1399 CPE B593

I had the exact same problem with ABSA not working. I tried for 5 hours to fiddle with all the firewall settings, filtering, static router etc... could not get ib.absa.co.za working on the Huawei CPE B593 (no new firmware to be found). Got Ruan from Lteforce.co.za / bluetechretail to lend me another router, also a Huawei CPE B593, BUT A NEWER MODEL that worked, wow, finally.

In the process I replaced my old B593 router on 18Feb2015 with the new LTE-A router (Huawei E5186s-61a) which was supplied by Telkom via Ruan. The new router ALSO WORKS ON ABSA I reside in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria. No LTE-A yet in my area, but LTE itself is already a major upgrade.

I have now dumped my age old ADSL line for the 100gb Telkom LTE / LTE-A(only in parts of JHB at the moment) at R1399pm. Even though it is a 3 year contract, I very much doubt that realistically I will have any other alternative other than snailDSL for the next many months, if not years. Even thought there are VDSL close to us, its just not at available at my place yet and I waited 3 years for VDSL and got fed up with waiting now. -RAYMOND/SANFORD AVENUE-

I decided to go for this 100GB deal and after playing with it now I am glad I did, I'm having a ball now on my new LTE, just ran speedtest.net and got 52Mb down and 8Mb up. Sometimes its a bit slower at 16Mb down and 3Mb up, still much better than what I had. I had a look at other carriers LTE but no one could come close to the current 100GB deal.(Feb2015). I just have to be disciplined now and not exceed 100GB otherwise it's OUT OF BUNDLE for me and that will make you have to sell you car very quickly.

---hope that helps with the whole ABSA thing, AND getting rid of snailDSL---
