8ta MORE

8ta more is not available to the customers that have their simcards enabled for the go big bundles.....

Why is this?
Hi cavedog

You cannot have prepaid 8ta more and the prepaid PSB (per-second billing) data promo rate plan active on the same SIM at the same time.

Thank you
8ta

It says that free airtime gets used first.

Now let's say I buy R150 airtime, I then get R150 free. If I immediately convert my R150 into a 2+1 GB promo bundle, will my data usage immediately start coming off the bundle or will the free airtime of R150 be used up at the OOB rate of R1/MB first and then my data bundle after that? So in essence, will this method give me 150 MB + 2 GB + 1 GB?
Hi ajax

Sorry for the delay.

First of all, you will not be able to purchase the 2GIG + 1GIG Promo (or the 60GIG + 60GIG Promo) on the 8ta more tariff plan.

When you use your normal airtime to purchase a data bundle (for example 100MB for R40.00), the data bundle will be used first, then your free airtime (given to you on the 8ta more tariff plan) and only then your remaining airtime (not consumed by your data bundle).

Please ensure to always disconnect your data session after purchasing a new data bundle. This is to ensure that you utilise the new bundle.

Thank you
8ta

You also need to actually CALL an 8ta rep to convert to the promo tarrif.

Even if they send you an sms saying you need to input *180# and follow the prompts?!?!?!

I stand to be corrected... bought R50 airtime just to test it and i received no free(more) airtime.

Now does the promo apply to data Only sim?

There are 3 prepaid tarrif plans:
1. Pre paid per minute (These will need to be converted to 8ta More by dialling *180# in order to qualify for the free airtime) NB: This is no longer available to any new customers - any new customers will be on the 8ta More by default.
2. Pre paid per second (8ta More)
3. Pre paid data promotion (These do not qualify for the free airtime)

All these services allow voice and data.

We hope this clears things up a bit more. If there is anything anyone needs anything clarified, let us know.

I think it will be instantly lost if you convert it. Also you can earn a maximum of R1000 per day I think.

oh ya..thanks i forgot about the R1000 per day thing...so will i lose my "paid airtime" when i convert?

Hi All!

If your SIM card configuration is for the promo deals (2+1GB and 60+60GB), you will not get free airtime (e.g. buy R1000 and get R1000 free).
Only if your SIM card is set to 8ta More will you get free airtime.

You will lose the 8ta more airtime once converting your SIM to the data deals.

Please don't make this mistake?

This 8ta More is a disaster.

I converted my old voice plan to 8ta More without realising that although you get 50% free airtime, that the call costs are significantly higher.

As I cannot switch back to the old rates, I now have to throw my 8ta sim away and switch to Cell C 99c for real !

Hi there

You will not lose your paid airtime after converting to a data SIM.

We have also tested the other scenario and the free airtime still carries over when converting to a data SIM, but this is already in the process of being changed to the free airtime being lost once converting as this was the initial business rule. Once we converted the SIM to data, we were not able to use the free airtime to purchase any bundles.

Why is this? I have the old prepaid plan and am very happy with it. I was thinking of converting my business phone to this same plan. 8ta more isn't for me.

PS. Does this mean that eventually all us customers on the old plan will be forced onto 8ta more at some stage?

Hi Axe

Most times we hear about product changes a lot closer to the change date. At the moment there is no talk of changing everyone to 8ta MORE.
