At last something to smile about, some real competition for the cell networks. I see that 8ta launched their post paid today. Clever pricing - they are now (at last) using their fixed line network to benefit their new cell users. I suppose that is their real comprtitive advantage. By having these free fixed line mintues (and unlimited minutes for the 1st 100 000 users), I think its going to change the way people use their cell phones - will phone more landlines in future. Very clever !!!:)

Who still uses landlines? All the big companies use VOIP, most homes use mobile phones.

Point taken ! But a company the size of mine who has about 14 reps who are on the road most the time - I could get them each a 8ta contract and have the work number as their free landline number. hence they could contact the office anytime for important info or feedback - a great tool !! if used correctly.

I rarely actually phone from my cell phone, so it's all lost on me really.
