I need help.
At our premises at 64 Gemini street, Brackenfell, Telkom can only offer a max of 4 mbps line.
This is way to slow for us, as we have some other branches connecting to the Brackenfell office.
We need about 60 Gig of data per month and according to our software provider at least 10 mbps which will cost a fortune on 3G. If the line stays at the 3.7 mbps it is at night we will be able to work, but there is no way we get close to that speed between 9h00 and 17h00 during the day.

Telkom LTE does not cover our area, so far I could not find anybody with Fibre in the area and I also could not find anything else.

We were with Telkom with the ADSL. Then Afrihost said they might be able to offer a faster line,...... until we ported to them we were then informed that the line is limited to the exchange and can only get a faster line if and when Telkom add faster ports, so we might as well stayed with Telkom.

We already lost two days of work because during the day the internet becomes so slow that my other branches cannot connect to our main branch.

Does anybody know of any other solution in the area?

I think our slow down during the day is typical port overload. We go down to 0.2 mbps during the day and then Afrihost use all the answers they can get to tell us why it is so slow and log the one call with Telkom after the other. But after 17h00 problems goes away by itself and when everybody went home we can actually work, only problem is then there are no workers and then there are also no clients in the shop no more.

Right inbetween VDSL zones - ouch! That is just plan bad luck!

Chat to a closeby premises in the VDSL area, get a line there and setup a wireless link?

Thanx for all the replies, I contacted those companies.

Telkom Adsl checker says you can get 10mbs at your address
But according to Afrihost and the Telkom technicians say they cannot go faster than 4 Mbps.

Yes, and the same with Telkom LTE, it is all around us.

How does Telkom WiFi hotspots work?

I see at https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/shop/personal/plan/completely-unlimited/ they say you can connect to Wifi hotspots for free, unlimited.
I also see if I look at Telkom's coverage map there is a WiFi hotspot just down the road from our shop.
Does this mean if I take a Telkom unlimited deal and install a WiFi antenna on my router I will be able to connect to the WiFi hotspot down the road? What do worry me though is that according to Telkom's coverage map the WiFi hotspot is also not in a VDSL area? It is the one at TaTa at 37 Gemini Street. The Wifi hotspot at ACD at 12B Taurus street, is in a VDSL area but I guess that is too far from us.

That WiFi hotspot will be even slower. I have some possible solutions that I can discuss with you. Do I call you at your shop in Brackenfell? I am also sending you a PM with my details.

ADSL limited to under 4Mbps
Neotel WiMax - 2Mbps
Wireless provider - look at ECC systems
