No, the books are always better than the films/series... Will enjoy the series while it lasts, then read the books. Besides I have a rule that I won't read an epic fantasy until the author has finished it, tired of them dying on me 2 books from the end

According to the books the gist of this is true, but we also know the "guilty party" did not act alone. It was a concerted effort.
