A Problem With No Solution?

Hi,

Our area just recently upgraded to closed access fibre with BitConnect (not the bitcoin scam) as my ISP. Service has been great so far to be honest.

Up until fibre, I had been able to watch DSTV Now live streaming with no problems (apart from speed). Now, since fibre, we are unable to stream DSTV Now live from any devices. Catchup on DSTV Now works perfectly, but when you try to watch a live channel, the player loads up with a black screen and no error message.

Live streaming on youtube, twitch, twitter, etc is working perfectly.

I have this problem on my iphone, apple tv and chrome browser on laptop. If i try streaming the DSTV Now Live using LTE, there is no issue at all.

I have spent days chatting to DSTV now, logging in and out, changing passwords, re-registering devices, re-downloading apps, but to no avail.

My guess is it's either the router or the ISP config somehow?
 
Try sharing the wifi.
Eg: connect your phone to the wifi and then hotspot it?

My mibox does not work well with the fibre router.. but if I hotspot with my phone i have no issues...

Thanks for the suggestion, but the live stream is not working on my phone when connected to the wifi either, only when my phone is on LTE does the live work
 
Try pinging the dstv website and see how long it takes to get a response. If the ping is high the ISP could be throttling it
 
thanks @shotalot and @Naks i will try this when i get home.

It is worth noting that catchup on DSTV Now is working fine, it's just live streaming that's the issue.

Checked now with a neighbour and no problem on his side.
